Summary:
The RN - Team Member Health/Inf. Prevention is responsible for the evaluation and promotion of team member health and safety through screening of new team members and annual screening of team members thereafter. This position is responsible for all aspects of evaluation, education, counseling, and follow up of team members having exposure to communicable disease and blood and body fluid exposures. He/she coordinates the worker’s compensation process. This position is essential in assisting in areas where compliance with federal, state and accreditation standards are necessary. The Team Member Health RN evaluates, counsels, motivates and refers team members with various physical and emotional concerns. This person is responsible for maintaining health records in a confidential manner and in accordance with all governing agencies. This position demonstrates competence to treat adult patients. The Team Member Health RN is available for consultation and advisory services related to Ballad Health facilities.
Additionally responsible for oversight of the Infection Prevention Plan, assuring that the plan is based on current, sound, and published principles. Responsible for completing surveillance utilizing epidemiologic principles, infection prevention and control, quality improvement initiatives to ensure program is cost effective while providing high quality and effective care and prevention of healthcare associated infections. The nurse stays current with regulatory guidelines and liaisons as needed with regulatory agencies, consults with all departments on infection prevention and control issues, conducts education to staff as required to facilitate improved practice for patient safety, represents infection prevention and control on related committees as assigned. Responsible for conducting infection prevention and control environmental rounding.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Previous experience in Team Member Health, Occupational Medicine, Infection Prevention is desirable.

Licenses and Certifications:
Active RN licensure in appropriate state. CPR is required.
