We are currently seeking a Production Control Supervisor for our Horn Lake, MS location.
PURPOSE:
This position will be part of the Production Control within the Materials Group and will be responsible for the storage systems from staging to production line side locations, for improving productivity and efficiency of operations, and managing the warehouse and material handling staff. This position will report to the Materials Manager. This position also manages the warehouse flow to ensure component inventory accuracy. Plan, assign and direct work of the material handling employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Design, develop, and implement solutions for improving material flows from warehouse to line side locations through the factory.
Oversees the placing/organizing of material in the warehouse.
Ability to foster and develop a strong team of material handling personnel through training, coaching, selective recruitment, and thorough and consistent on-boarding process.
Drive improvements within material flow by planning layout and space requirements, reducing line impact, and analyzing and reviewing product flow.
Maintains safe work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures.
Responsible to line side material delivery to all opco’s
Responsible for direction to, and management of, the material handling personnel.
Defines process definition and continuous improvement.
Provides daily work direction to warehouse and ensures proper training in stock handling and record keeping methods.
Work with Production Manager and department supervisors to establish KPI’s to measure performance of the operations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensure high level of service delivering materials to various line locations.
Ensure the accuracy of inventory from the warehouse to work-in-process locations, and the accuracy of all stock control records.
Effectively investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and/or system problems when necessary.
Review warehouse operations, and transfer of stock from one department to another.
Implement cause and corrective action procedures with regards to parts and/or materials.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Supply Chain Management or Manufacturing closely related field; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of Production, Inventory Control and Material Flow within a manufacturing environment with the ability to teach and coach others on best practices.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts. such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
