Key Responsibilities:
  • Safety Standards Leadership: Develop, review, and update environmental and safety standards to ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act and company policies.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Select and manage the appropriate personal protective equipment for our team.
  • Inspection Coordination: Coordinate inspections with MIOSHA, DOL, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Legislation Updates: Stay current with the latest legislative requirements and ensure our practices reflect them.
  • Input on Manufacturing Processes: Provide valuable input during the development stages of manufacturing process equipment.
  • Waste Management: Oversee and coordinate the storage, handling, shipment, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Reporting: Deliver meaningful statistics and reports to management to support ongoing workplace health, safety, and loss control improvements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage written consent agreements with State or Federal governments and maintain associated records.
  • New Hire Orientation: Participate in the health and safety orientation for new employees.
  • Committee Coordination: Lead the Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and activities.
  • Worker's Compensation: Assist with the administration of Worker’s Compensation.
  • Accident Monitoring: Monitor all accident investigations and ensure adherence to safety rules.
  • EMS Management: Serve as the Environmental Management Representative, overseeing and improving the EMS process.
  • Training and Audits: Perform EMS, Auditor, Emergency Response Plan, and ISO14001 training, and lead ISO14001 external audits.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: At least five years of experience in an industrial environment.
  • Certifications: O.S.H.A 40-hour certification is a must.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
