United States Cold Storage (USCS) is a leading provider of 3rd party logistics solutions. The Center of Digital Excellence or CoDE is the technology arm of USCS, and we are on a mission to deliver custom software solutions to enable the efficient automated operations at our cold storage facilities. Our next generation warehouse management system directs effective operations at our facilities, interfaces with control systems of autonomous vehicles and autonomous storage/retrieval systems, automates electronic transactions with our partners, and interfaces with off-the-shelf transportation and labor management systems.

The Job Details:

We are looking for an Oracle Database Engineer with solid experience installing, configuring, tuning and monitoring our Oracle Database infrastructure in the Oracle Cloud. You should have worked on support mission critical applications with large workloads with an Oracle Backend. You will collaborate with our Infrastructure, DevOps and Software engineering teams to design and support scalable and fault tolerant production grade systems. Strong experience working with Oracle Extreme Performance edition in Oracle Cloud or on another public cloud infrastructure is required.

Some of the things expected from you include the following:

  • Experience with various tools to automate installation, configuration and patching of Oracle Databases
  • Experience with maintenance and upgrade operations of our Oracle Database platforms
  • Owning the ongoing design, implementation, and management of our Oracle Cloud (OCI) environment
  • Owning the continuous and pro-active automated health monitoring of our production systems
  • Promoting utilization of new or unused capabilities of Oracle databases to improve performance, scalability and availability
  • Experience implementing solutions to Oracle’s Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) standards
  • SSO setup using OAM/OID
  • Experience working with developers in design and testing of Oracle DB dependent system components
  • Demonstrable experience improving existing infrastructure as business needs and tech stacks evolve
  • Experience working effectively with remote and internal development teams

Qualifications:

Education

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related subject

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience working in IT as an Oracle DBA
  • Strong experience with PL/SQL language, including designing performant queries
  • Strong experience diagnosing application bottlenecks caused by Oracle DB I/O
  • Oracle Database RAC installation/support experience
  • Strong knowledge of Linux, shell scripting and other scripting languages
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins and Ansible automation would be a plus
  • Working experience with containers, and cloud operating environments – Oracle OCI is a plus
  • Experience with Informatica workflows is a plus
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA)
  • Experience in Supply Chain Logistics is a nice to have
