Pride Health is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support our client’s medical facility in San Rafael, CA. This is a 13-week assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our compassionate healthcare team. As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide direct patient care and assist in implementing individualized treatment plans. Your role will be pivotal in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through therapeutic activities and exercises.
Responsibilities:
Assist occupational therapists in evaluating patients’ functional abilities through observation and standardized assessments.
Implement therapeutic interventions and activities outlined in the treatment plan to improve patients’ motor skills, strength, coordination, and range of motion.
Guide and instruct patients in therapeutic exercises and activities designed to enhance daily living skills and independence.
Monitor and document patients’ progress and response to treatment under the supervision of the occupational therapist.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding treatment goals and progress.
Assist in maintaining a clean, organized therapy area and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
Adhere to healthcare regulations and standards, including maintaining patient confidentiality and accurate documentation.
Requirements:
Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) issued by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
State licensure or eligibility for state licensure as required.
Previous clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in occupational therapy.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Specialized training or experience in a specific area of occupational therapy (e.g., pediatric, geriatric, neurorehabilitation).
The facility requires clinicians to maintain a productivity standard. PT,OT,SLP 85% PTA,COTA 90%
Additional Information:
Location: San Rafael, CA
Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract
Shifts: Day shift, 8hr./day
Weekly Gross Range: $1300 to $1456
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
