About Us


David Herrera, who immigrated to Houston from El Salvador in 1979, is the inspiration behind Grupo Herrera Restaurants. After working as a captain waiter at Anthony's, Herrera developed a passion for the restaurant industry and learned about cooking and providing a great dining experience. In 2006, Herrera and his wife Alicia and their sons Marvin, Ubaldo, and Dario opened Alicia's Mexican Grille after saving for 27 years. The restaurant became popular and eventually moved to a larger location in Cypress, and then expanded to Katy, Spring, and Houston.


The Herrera family has also opened other restaurants, including Dario's Steakhouse & Seafood, Marvino's Italian Steakhouse, and Galiana's Tex Mex & Agave Bar. Each restaurant is named after a family member and serves premium meats, fresh seafood, and a large wine and cocktail list.


Our family of restaurants strives to bring a variety of impressive flavors, food presentations, wine/spirit selections, and dining experiences to our local communities. Hospitality is a top priority, and we work hard to create an energetic environment of friendliness and professionalism. Each concept is incredibly unique, and several locations offer beautifully designed private dining rooms.


Job Description


Social Media Content Creator/Manager – Restaurants and Catering


Grupo Herrera is looking for a dynamic Director, Social Media Strategist, and Content Leader who will establish, drive, and execute a comprehensive and innovative social media strategy that amplifies and enhances our online presence.


Responsibilities and Requirements


Strategy & Expertise


  • Own organic social programs end-to-end, including strategy, content development, creative execution, publishing, testing, and reporting.
  • Stay informed of social media trends and leverage opportunities to enhance our presentation and visibility.
  • Expand social media reach to grow our following across channels and maintain favorable audience engagement.
  • Reputation management - represent the ideals and philosophies of the Herrera family by replying to online feedback and other inquiries that request prompt attention. Investigate the situation and facts relating to criticisms or negative comments. Monitor and analyze online content relating to our restaurants and catering department, including social media, search engines, blogs and communities, and consumer forums


Leadership & Management


  • Develop relationships and exhibit strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with other marketing specialists.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support campaigns.


Content Creation & Curation


  • Develop and implement engaging social media strategies to elevate visibility that encourages community participation.  
  • Create content that is enticing to the appetite and showcases a wide variety of plate presentations - know how the light should look, good placement for the subject and supporting elements in a food scene, and how to approach the use of color and texture to create mouthwatering photos.   • Manage and strategize content development and distribution across all major social media platforms including Instagram, Threads, X, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, etc.
  • Create, oversee, and lead a regular publishing schedule and implement a content editorial calendar that incorporates the overall social media strategy.


Analytics & Reporting


  • Set goals, track, analyze, and report performance. Identify and implement recommendations for improvement and growth.
  • Utilize analytics tools to assess the performance of social media campaigns and make informed decisions to optimize results.


Requirements and Qualifications


  • 5+ years’ experience successfully managing/launching social media programs.
  • Experience in social data analysis and the ability to use digital tools to find actionable insights through data.
  • Expert experience using social media management tools.
  • Experience with live streaming.
  • Strong idea generator with the ability to think creatively and innovatively as a digital storyteller.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with solid judgment and strong ethics.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Budget management is a plus.
  • Respond to online reviews promptly and with great attention to tone and professionalism.
