· Attending hearings and conferences, including arguing motions,
· Taking and defending depositions,
· Updating clients on their cases,
· Negotiating settlements and assisting with settlements,
· Managing caseloads and ensuring all deadlines are met,
· Attending mediation sessions,
· Preparing discovery responses,
· Drafting trial documents,
· Drafting correspondence,
· Drafting motions and oppositions, and
· Trying cases or assisting with trials.
The firm is based in metropolitan Los Angeles but handles cases throughout the state. The position, therefore, may involve travel throughout the state. Applicants must have at least one year of relevant litigation experience.
The firm is looking for someone who is
· passionate about helping consumers,
· detail-oriented,
· self-motivated,
· well organized,
· able to meet deadlines, and
· able to multitask effectively.
Applicants must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong analytical skills. Applicants also must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook as well as with Adobe Acrobat. Finally, applicants must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other members of the firm.
The position offers room for advancement as well as professional and financial development.
Applicants must be licensed to practice law in California and be in good standing with the California State Bar.
Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
