H/Advisors Abernathy, a leading strategic communications firm, is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to join its dynamic team of professionals. This role, which will be based in our New York office, involves working closely with the Director of IT to support our professionals’ use of the firm’s IT network, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, databases and application software, in Abernathy’s six office locations: New York, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.


Job Summary:

The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for the effective operation of information technology (IT) services and support across the organization. The Information Technology Specialist serves as a technical expert for the implementation, management, and support of systems and networks. They test and optimize the functionality of computer related issues. The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for providing various forms of computer-related technical assistance. The Information Technology Specialist will assist employees in troubleshooting and resolving IT-related issues.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Handles inquiries from users on a variety of software and hardware issues.
  • Assists users with installation of software and troubleshooting of related problems; refers more complicated issues to appropriate staff.
  • Communicates regularly with other members of the support team to discuss recurring problems and to share solutions and best practices.
  • As experience increases, provides training on hardware and software use to end users.
  • Performs other related IT duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Thorough understanding of computer software and hardware, including desktop computers, laptops, network devices, and peripherals.

  • Helpdesk Support
  • IT Network Support
  • Corporate device management for H/Advisors Abernathy employees
  • Installation and support of standard apps, and apps department or individual specific
  • Office locations technology support
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all employees on a day-to-day basis, in all offices and at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of Aruba Network Devices and Manage Engine, or similar programs, is a plus.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is preferred. An Associate’s degree in computer science or related field and equivalent work experience may be substituted.
  • At least 2 years of work-related experience with multiple software packages preferred.


Salary Range:

$45k to $60k. The salary range may be increased based on skill set and qualifications of candidates. This is a non-exempt role.
