Accounts Payable Specialist

- Pay vendors by monitoring discounts, scheduling checks, resolving purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and discrepancies, ensuring credits, and issuing stop-payments, or amendments.
- Calculate foreign exchange rates
- Maintain accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and files.
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries.
- Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting transactions.
- Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Update and maintain the vendor database.
- Process and enter 200-300 invoices weekly.
- Review invoices for documentation and approval before payment.
- Print and obtain signatures on all accounts payable checks.
- Distribute signed checks as required.
- Assist in monthly closings.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors and employees.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist in a manufacturing or similar industry
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MC Office applications, particularly Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle a high volume of transactions accurately and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
