As a Principal Risk Associate at Capital One you'll be responsible for working with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. The Global Payment Network Business Risk Office partners with business units to identify, assess, and mitigate Network-specific operational and regulatory risks. The Business Risk Office designs and executes risk frameworks, manages issues and complaints, ensures compliance, supports change management, and fosters a culture of accountability and informed decision-making. The Global Payment Network Business Risk Office Governance team ensures effective governance and risk management across Discover Network, Diners Club International, and PULSE Network, ensuring Network or Participant impacting decisions are effectively challenged, approved, and socialized. As part of the team you will:Support the team in identifying and assessing risk for decisions impacting the Network, Participants, or Cardholders.Act as a liaison between Discover Network, Diners Club International, and/or PULSE Network and key stakeholders and process owners, facilitating effective challenge, approval, and reporting processes.Maintenance of Policies and Standards governing Global Payment Network operating processes.Responsibilities:Risk Consulting to one or more Business Areas relative to their business lines and provide advice and guidance as requiredClient ManagementDevelop and leverage key relationships with stakeholders that enable collaboration across the enterpriseCorrective actionIdentify and track events and issues to mitigate risk to Capital One. Coordinate with applicable business areas to define/ implement remediation activitiesMonitoring and Reporting of Retail Deposit Compliance effortsChange ManagementLead change control efforts at the process level to ensure impacts are appropriately assessed, documented and implementedBasic Qualifications:Bachelors Degree or military experienceAt least 1 year of Financial Services Risk Management ExperienceAt least 2 years of Project Management experienceAt least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clientsPreferred Qualifications:At least 3 years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in RiskPMP Certification or Masters Certificate of Project Management (CPM)At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.Chicago, IL: $106,700 - $121,700 for Principal Risk SpecialistMcLean, VA: $117,300 - $133,900 for Principal Risk SpecialistNew York, NY: $128,000 - $146,100 for Principal Risk SpecialistRiverwoods, IL: $106,700 - $121,700 for Principal Risk SpecialistCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
