Job Summary

The AI Technologies team’s mission is to empower Comcast through transformative AI solutions, the development of cutting-edge AI platforms, and laying the strategic foundation for AI technology to deliver next-in-class experiences, operational excellence, and innovation-fueled growth, creating lasting value for our customers, employees, and the entire company.​ We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to join our team as an Executive Director, overseeing multiple teams that are developing foundational AI search, agentic, and decision platforms and delivering high-impact AI solutions on top of these internal and external AI platforms. You will be responsible for leading and inspiring a group of talented software development and machine learning research managers as well as their teams. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our AI strategy, ensuring our platforms are robust, scalable, and provide self-service capabilities that enable both the researchers and solution architects on your team as well as others in Comcast’s technology and product organizations to develop groundbreaking AI solutions.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Vision: Provide strong, forward-thinking leadership to a group of software development and machine learning research managers and technical leaders, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Inspire and guide teams towards achieving strategic goals and delivering exceptional AI solutions. 

  • Strategic Oversight: Oversee the development and enhancement of self-service AI platforms, ensuring they meet the needs of solution architects and researchers while aligning with business objectives. Ensure platforms are designed for scalability, reliability, and ease of use. 

  • Team Development: Build and nurture high-performing teams by recruiting top talent, providing mentorship, and fostering professional growth. Drive continuous improvement in team performance and technical expertise. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with platform solution architects, data scientists, and product leaders from other teams to ensure seamless integration of AI technologies into client solutions. Facilitate collaboration across teams to accelerate the development of innovative AI products. 

  • Technical Expertise: Leverage your deep understanding of both software development and machine learning processes to guide teams in the design and implementation of AI solutions. Stay informed about the latest trends in AI and software development to keep the team at the cutting edge of technology. 

  • Operational Excellence: Implement best practices in software development, project management, and team leadership to ensure high-quality delivery of AI platforms and solutions. Drive efficiency and effectiveness in all aspects of the development process. 

  • Client Focus: Ensure the AI platforms and solutions developed by your teams meet the needs of our clients, and drive business value. Collaborate with client-facing teams to understand requirements and translate them into actionable development plans.

  • Proven Leadership: Extensive experience in leading software development teams, with a track record of managing managers and building high-performing, cross-functional teams. 

  • AI & Software Expertise: Deep knowledge of AI technologies, machine learning processes, and software development practices. Experience in developing and managing AI platforms is highly desirable. 

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align technology development with business strategy, with a focus on delivering platforms that enable innovation and client success. 

  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across different teams and stakeholders. Strong communication skills to articulate vision, strategy, and technical details to diverse audiences. 

  • Innovative Mindset: A passion for innovation and a desire to stay ahead of the curve in AI and software development. Ability to inspire teams to explore new ideas and push the boundaries of technology. 

  • Operational Excellence: Strong background in implementing and optimizing development processes, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. 

  • Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in AI, machine learning, or related areas are a plus.
