Customer Support Engineer

Qualifications: Four-year electronics, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering degree, related major or established relative work experience preferred Experience with customer relationships a plus Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills to resolve complex technical challenges. Ability to interpret customer technical drawingsExcellent customer service skills to build strong relationships and ensure customer satisfaction. Experience in Lean conceptsFamiliar with standard desktop applications and a basic understanding of ERP systemsGood technical writing and verbal communication skills. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.Physical Requirements:Lift and carry up to 45 pounds. Distinguish and identify colorsAbility to work with odorsAbility to work with minimum supervision. Ability to interact with a variety of personnel in a positive and professional manner. Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGuide customers through the process of implementing and deploying new productsReview customer change orders to implement in a timely and controlled mannerInvestigate and resolve customer requests and issues in support of the daily manufacturing efforts by attending customer calls or visits.Participate in design for manufacturability review (DFM) of new and existing products in support of continuous process improvements and customer service.Support document control and assembly writer teams with BOM review and guidance based on customer need.Work closely with production and process engineering teams to implement customer change requests, manage proto builds, and assist with other customer requestsAssist with component review and analysis Assist with training technical staff and production personnel on customer requirements and changesAdditional Duties and ResponsibilitiesParticipate in 5S, Kaizen, safety and health program, special projects, serve on various committees and work with other teams as necessary to complete assignments. Perform all other duties as assigned.Contacts: Frequent external and internal contact with vendors, customers and associates.Working Conditions: General office and production environment.Travel: Minimal travel required. Less than 10%Accountability: The Customer Project Engineer is accountable for possessing and applying the necessary technical and system knowledge to manage customer expectations and stay informed on new developments. The Customer Project Engineer must maintain a professional attitude. Manages time effectively to focus efforts on top priorities of the job and is accountable for practicing and promoting safe working habits in compliance with company policies/procedures.Supervision: No direct supervisory responsibilities. Support and provide high quality service to internal and external customers.
