Plaintiff's Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal

The ideal candidate will be an experienced paralegal who has handled all stages of plaintiff's personal injury litigation. This candidate should feel comfortable drafting legal documents, answering discovery, filing documents with the court, monitoring service of complaints and getting A&P summonses issues as needed, managing case files and attorney calendars, filing documents, and scheduling depositions, mediations, court hearings, and trials.
Responsibilities
- File pleadings and other legal documents with the court, including through the e-filing system.
- Preparing summonses, maintaining the chain of A&P summonses, and ensuring proper service of Complaints.
- Draft, answer, supplement, and serve discovery.
- Schedule depositions, mediations, and court hearings.
- Draft motions, affidavits of service, notices of deposition, and other legal documents.
- Prepare charts of medical expenses.
- Monitor deadlines and maintain calendaring system.
- Review and proofread legal documents.
- Draft correspondence.
- Communicate with clients, opposing attorneys, court reporters, videographers, mediators, trial court administrators, clerks of court, medical providers,
- Prepare disbursement statements.
- Administrative responsibilities.
- Organizing and saving documents in client files.
- Assist and participate in trial.
We are a small, boutique firm and the above-listed job responsibilities are representative, but not exhaustive, of the duties the litigation paralegal will need to perform.
Qualifications
- 7-8+ years as Litigation Legal Assistant or Paralegal in North Carolina.
- Must have experience handling plaintiff's cases.
- Strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pace work environment.
