An education network in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a promising opportunity at one of their schools in the Bronx.
About the Opportunity:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Length: Ongoing
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 8:15am to 4:15pm
  • EMR: Azimuth SIS

Responsibilities:

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will:

  • Provide individual and group speech and language services within a transdisciplinary model that are individualized in nature and meet the needs of each student
  • Utilize a variety of treatment approaches that are safe, creative and individualized to a particular student's needs
  • Continually monitor students' progress and adjust treatments accordingly based off clinical observations and data collection
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations of a student's speech and language capabilities
  • Ensure carryover and generalization of communication skills across all aspects of a students' day
  • Seamlessly integrate speech and language services into social and life skills learnings and support given the individualized needs of each student
  • Proactively maintain communication with students, family members and/or other care givers as appropriate to effectively address student progress, development and emergencies, as needed
  • Maintains appropriate records and reports as required
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of related work experience
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • NYS Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license
  • Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication systems (AAC)

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with students with Developmental Disabilities or on the Autistic spectrum
  • Experience in a School setting
