Overview:
Ledgent Technology is seeking a seasoned Senior Network Engineer on behalf of our client located in Sunrise, Florida. This is a critical role within the organization, where you will serve as the final point of escalation for all network-related issues. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will be instrumental in managing and transitioning network infrastructure from Ubiquiti hardware to Cisco's technology stack. This position offers a contract-to-hire opportunity, with the intention to convert to full-time employment for the ideal candidate, reflecting a competitive compensation package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the transition of network infrastructure from Ubiquiti to Cisco systems.
  • Act as the final escalation point for resolving all network-related issues.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures to ensure data safety and compliance within a healthcare environment.
  • Conduct regular network performance testing, analysis, and optimization based on best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT team members and report directly to the CTO to ensure alignment with broader company technology strategies.
  • Provide training and support to other team members on new technologies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, with a proven track record in managing complex network environments.
  • Strong familiarity with both Ubiquiti and Cisco hardware and software solutions, as well as other essential network technologies including VLANs, VPNs, VoIP, network monitoring tools, and firewall management.
  • Experience with network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, SNMP, and MPLS.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is highly preferred, with a strong understanding of compliance and security protocols relevant to the industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex network issues.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of mentoring junior staff and interfacing effectively with senior management.

Additional Requirements:

  • This role requires on-site presence 5 days per week in Sunrise, Florida.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
