Location: Overland Park, KS 66210


About the Role: Join a dynamic team and design detailed fiber networks for OSP work. You’ll create FTTX designs using QGIS, ArcGIS, and other GIS tools, analyze network data, and ensure top-notch quality control.


Pay Rate: ~ +/- $22/hr--$32/hr [depending on experience]


Key Responsibilities:

  • Create FTTX designs and route plans using GIS tools
  • Provide CAD support for permit plans, construction drawings, and conduit designs
  • Review and provide feedback on permitting prints
  • Perform fiber splicing and design Fiber to the Home, backhaul, and distribution routes
  • Maintain robust quality assurance processes


Senior Fiber Designer:

  • Conduct quality assurance on designs
  • Take ownership of special projects and train new hires


Lead Fiber Designer:

  • Oversee project completion and delivery
  • Supervise and mentor junior designers
  • Implement process improvements


Qualifications:

  • Fiber Designer: 2+ years designing fiber networks, proficiency in fiber design software (QGIS preferred)
  • Senior Fiber Designer: 2-4 years GIS/telecom experience, leadership skills
  • Lead Fiber Designer: 4+ years telecom experience, leadership experience
