Farnham Equipment Company is involved in the entire lifecycle of many facilities from the initial design, through years of maintenance and continuing through the eventual replacement/upgrade. We offer complete in-house vertical integration of product design assistance, budgeting, sales, project management, installation and maintenance.


Farnham Equipment Company is seeking a qualified Estimator for our Contract Sales division. This position will work directly with our sales manager and sales team members and be given immediate customer facing responsibilities. As an Estimator, you will provide support to the team by providing pricing and detailed evaluation of projects across our entire portfolio. We are looking for someone with the desire to build a career in the construction/service industry based in the central Ohio area.


Immediate work tasks may include some or all of the following:

  • Working directly with product vendors and clients (Contractors/Construction Managers/Architects) in all aspects of projects from architectural development to award of contract
  • Working directly with our sales team in all aspects of estimating including budgeting, design & development, retrieval of documents, performing detailed take-offs, conducting meetings, coordinating with customers as well as negotiation/follow up tasks
  • Growing product knowledge through experience, web-based learning, and personal research
  • Managing and growing task-based functions within the company’s CRM platform (Salesforce)


Future work tasks may include some or all of the following:

  • Coaching and developing sales team members
  • Implementation of internal operational process improvements
  • Gaining the knowledge and ability to assist in detailed development of architectural designs and product specifications
  • Traveling (within Ohio) to evaluate/review project opportunities and scope


Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Strong oral, written, and electronic communication skills are required
  • Associate and/or Bachelor's degree or coursework in construction industry estimating or a business-related field is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3 year estimating experience is required
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and possess strong analytical and organizational skills in managing multiple projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience in Salesforce or a similar CRM platform
  • Time and self-management skills in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to effectively manage an audit trail documentation process
