Job Summary:

The Staff Counsel will be a key contributor to the legal department and will be responsible for a variety of legal matters with a focus on commercial transactions. The Staff Counsel will report to the General Counsel.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate client service agreements
  • Ensure contract terms are consistent with company policies
  • Address customer contract issues and disputes
  • Support the procurement team in preparation of responses to Requests for Proposals
  • Organize and maintain a database of client service agreements, including the identification and documentation of various contract details
  • Legal research and regulatory compliance


Qualifications:

  • JD and bar admission in Illinois required
  • 1-2 years’ experience as a practicing attorney
  • At least 1 year of experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
  • The ability to develop new areas of expertise and the confidence to quickly learn and develop independence in key practice areas
  • Proven track record of accountability, attention to detail, and organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Working collaboratively, within a team-oriented environment leading to positive results
  • Computer proficiency required
