Group Manager, PMO Management Information & InsightsHybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Technical/Innovation Center in Warren (MI), Austin (TX), or Mountain View (CA) three times per week, at minimum. This position can be located at any of these locations.The RoleWe're seeking a strategic yet hands-on leader to define and deliver the future of Management Information (MI), reporting, and insights across the PMO. This role sits at the intersection of data strategy, storytelling, and portfolio execution enabling senior leadership to make faster, smarter decisions through high-quality, actionable insights.You will lead a small but high-performing team responsible for establishing the MI strategy, building scalable data products (dashboards, reports, and analytics pipelines), and ensuring that information is consistent, trusted, and decision-ready.This is a player-coach role: you'll both set the long-term strategy and personally build and deliver high-impact dashboards and narratives that connect data to business outcomes.Why This Role MattersGM's vehicle portfolio is evolving faster than ever and demand sharper insight and tighter alignment across the enterprise. This role defines how we measure what matters turning data into the connective tissue between strategy, capacity, and execution.What You'll DoDefine the Management Information & Reporting Strategy: Establish the long-term vision, principles, and architecture for how management information, reporting, and dashboards support portfolio and capacity decision-making.Be a player-coach: Lead and mentor a small team (~35 analysts/BI developers) while remaining deeply hands-on in shaping data models, dashboard designs, and executive-level storytelling.Build decision-grade data products: Design, prototype, and deliver dashboards and reports that serve as the single source of truth for program health, capacity, and delivery performance.Drive integration and automation: Partner with data engineering and IT to integrate data from Jira, Anaplan, and enterprise systems ensuring seamless, real-time visibility across the PMO.Elevate how insights are communicated: Transform complex data into simple, compelling stories that drive alignment and action at the leadership level.Standardize and scale: Create frameworks for KPI definition, governance, and dashboard lifecycle management, ensuring consistency across teams and tools.Foster a data-driven culture: Promote insight fluency across the PMO, helping teams move from reporting to truly understanding what the data means and how to act on it.Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or management reporting roles5+ years of experience with Jira and Power BI3+ years of management experienceProven ability to define strategy and execute as both leader and individual contributorDemonstrated experience building dashboards and reporting using modern BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker) and managing data pipelinesStrong ability to connect metrics to business context translating operational data into executive-level insightsExcellent communication, visualization, and data storytelling skillsExperience leading small, high-performing teams, including setting priorities and coaching for growthCollaborative and influential across technical, product, and business stakeholdersWhat Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)MBA or advanced degree in a business or quantitative disciplineBackground in tech, product, or engineering environments with a focus on scaling data-driven decision frameworksKnowledge of SQL or lightweight data modeling for analysis and prototypingFamiliarity with Agile, Lean, or OKR-based portfolio management frameworksDemonstrated ability to transform ambiguous business needs into structured, insightful reporting systemsCompensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative of positions located outside of the California Bay Area.The salary range for this role is $143,000 to $258,800. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.Benefits: GM offers a variety of health and wellbeing benefit programs.
