Project Estimator and Technician

Reports to: Lead Engineer

Effective Date: As soon as possible

FLSA Status: Exempt


Job Summary:

The project estimator and technician will work closely with customers and the pinta sales team to provide basic estimation services and technical support, as well as manage and maintain pinta’s sample inventory. This position is a support role within pinta’s engineering department and may assist on a variety of projects including industrial, medical, and architectural foam products. This position has to potential to evolve into an engineering and R&D role.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical support and estimation services to sales team
  • Manages inventory of standard material samples and sends them to customers as needed
  • Provides general support to our engineering team. This may include, but is not limited to: technical drawings, entering BOMs and work instruction, creating CNC files and layouts in a variety of tool path software, documenting and maintaining tooling records. Onsite Training will be provided.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Team oriented, responsible, and committed to finding solutions
  • Beginner SolidWorks or equivalent CAD and drafting experience is required. Basic onsite training
  • Good communication and human relation skills. This position regularly interacts with customers
  • Must be able to work both independently and as a part of a group
  • Ability to prioritize and work on several projects at a time
  • Must be able to read and create technical drawings of components and layouts
  • Architectural print reading is a plus but is not required
  • Prior experience estimating is strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Excel

Education and Experience:

  • 2 or 4 Year degree in manufacturing related field or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 Years of experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment for a small to mid-size manufacturing company. Hands-on manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Experience using CAD software
