Position Overview:


The Vice President of IT will define and drive Information technology strategies and implementations that enable productivity, profitability, and growth. This individual will develop an organizational structure to successfully address the evolving information technology needs of the company. The VP of IT will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s information technology and systems, including all enterprise applications, network and communication infrastructure, end-user support, and cyber risk. Cost and financial management, organizational vitality, vendor management, and strategic planning are critical aspects of the role. This role requires a strong strategic partnership and interaction with P&L leadership, manufacturing leadership, as well as functional business teams.


Key Responsibilities:


The Vice President of IT will provide expert counsel and guidance on information technology and its impact across the full range of business strategies, programs, products and services, and operations issues. In addition, responsibilities will include:

  • Leading all IT-related activities.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining an IT strategic roadmap aligned with the strategic priorities of the business.
  • Defining and prioritizing projects (applications, infrastructure, data, etc.) targeted to deliver the most business value.
  • Managing financial and resourcing constraints; defining budgets and targets for individual projects and annual plans for the entire organization.
  • Initiating and driving continuous system improvements that can have maximum business impact.
  • Working as a business partner with client leaders and users to evaluate/improve support processes enhancement needs and arrive at mutual, cost-effective solutions.
  • Working together with the business leaders to ensure alignment across all IT initiatives.
  • Ensuring total customer satisfaction, internal and external, by delivering continuous oversight to monitoring of IT systems performance.
  • Providing global team leadership for the IT team. Leading the recruitment/performance management/career management of his/her team members. Providing clear directions, regular feedback, coaching, and fostering team spirit.
  • Ensuring stable, secure, and compliant operations of all the applications in scope and hence the continuity of key business processes.
  • Collaborate with and manage third-party IT vendors and suppliers (Consulting, Software, and Hardware) Establish and enforce IT policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Ensure IT governance and compliance with industry best practices.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage IT staff, fostering a high-performance culture. Recruit, train, and develop IT personnel as needed.
  • Responsible for the company’s cyber-risk assessment and mitigation strategy.
  • Coordinating all internal and external audits, including cyber-related requests, on time.
  • Being accountable for preparing & distributing key application metrics and project reviews.
  • Developing peer, cross-functional & cross-business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and effectiveness.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or Engineering from an Accredited college or University.
  • An Advanced Technical Degree or MBA is desirable.
  • 15+ Years of relevant experience.


Success Factors:

The VP of IT will be a seasoned executive with strong leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will bring a high level of energy, a passion for the business and the ability to find ways to enhance the company.


In addition, the successful candidate will need to possess the following critical qualities and capabilities:


Technology Experience: The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills and have a track record of implementing technology and systems to a successful conclusion. Experience implementing large ERP solutions is required, and JDE is desired.

  • Demonstrated Leadership Capability: The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership capabilities, outstanding people skills, and a “command presence.” The successful candidate will be required to represent the Company in many different forums, requiring a strong executive presence and a professional demeanor. The successful candidate will be a confident, but unpretentious, collaborative leader who recognizes that how things get done is just as important as what gets done.
  • Strategic Acumen: Recognizing that technology is significantly affecting the industry, the new IT leader will be a strategic leader and influencer who can develop and drive a technology vision and plan for the Company. More importantly, the IT leader must have the ability to develop and improve the strategic focus throughout the IT organization.
  • Collaboration & Relationship Building: The successful candidate will be a confident, but unpretentious leader who recognizes how things get done is just as important as what gets done. He/she will proactively partner and collaboratively engage with business partners and will know how to communicate and “bring people along,” allowing initiatives to move forward seamlessly.
  • Building successful supplier partnerships: The successful candidate would have experience in successfully transitioning IT Operations to Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and managing IT service delivery to ensure it meets agreed-upon SLAs and KPIs.
  • Demonstrated Integration Experience: The successful candidate will have worked in lean organizations and must be comfortable integrating complex international businesses. The Director of IT will have a proven track record and experience building a stand-alone IT infrastructure across global regions with various technical complexities.
