Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.What Are We Looking For?The Entry-Level Driller Assistant is responsible for assisting the Driller with soil drilling, rock coring, sampling, classifications, in-situ testing, and monitoring well installation.What You'll Do:Assist Driller to load / unload augers and assemble / disassemble augersPrepare tooling and supplies for the day's tasksAssemble / disassemble augersAssist with the location of boring locationsRetrieve and log samplesClean / maintain equipment and perform site clean upRecognize and identify soil and rock types and material classificationsThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:No experience required - We will trainValid driver's license and reliable driving recordAbility to travel up to 50%Must be able to work off shift and overtime as neededAbility to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistanceAbility to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in soundAbility to kneel and squat occasionallyAbility to walk and stand for long periods of timeAbility to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperaturesAbility to climb occasionally, and work at various heightsAbility to work over night hours and off shiftPreferred Requirements & Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentPast drilling experience is strongly preferred but not required - candidates with equipment operation experience will be consideredExperience working in an outside environmentExperience working in a physically demanding role including manual laborClass A CDL2 or more years of relevant experienceHave a mechanical background and aptitude, with skills in operating and maintaining machinery
