New graduate nurses are assigned a preceptor to work directly with to ensure a smooth transition into practice Each New Graduate RN’s orientation is individualized and is designed to meet the educational and training needs of each New Graduate Nurse to assist the move from the academic setting to hands-on skills, critical thinking, and case management. The New Graduate Nurse will be surrounded by a supportive community of experienced nursing to promote learning, implementing clinical skills and transition from student nurse to registered nurse
Once the New Graduate RN has completed their precepting period the role will transition to an RN Case Manager. The RN Case Manager (RNCM) is responsible for managing the care of pediatric patients, according to their individual needs and care plan using a multidisciplinary method. The Registered Nurse facilitates referrals to primary providers, specialists, healthcare facilities, and community resources. The Registered Nurse is responsible for direct client care including a holistic approach to the care of children and their families, including educational, psychosocial, behavioral, physical, mental, and emotional care/needs of the child. The Registered Nurse will educate the client and family regarding immediate care needs and preventative behaviors.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensure eligible in the state of Kentucky
- Recent graduate with a provisional RN license
- Basic personal computer skills and comfort with learning electronic charting systems
- Current negative Tuberculosis skin test (PPD) required
- Current CPR (Basic Life Support) is required
- Full-time
- 12-hour shifts available
