The IT Director at C. &. E. Merdinian Armenian Evangelical School ("Merdinian") will oversee the entire IT department, integrating the current IT Specialist responsibilities with additional strategic, administrative, and managerial duties. This role will focus on advancing Merdinian's technological infrastructure, enhancing security, and aligning IT initiatives with organizational goals. A significant responsibility will be to establish
and oversee a proper network administrator to monitor and develop the network of approximately 400+ active users, including implementing and managing Active Directory and roaming profiles.
The IT director will manage security systems in-house and develop and enforce domain-wide tech policies for staff and administration to ensure compliance and security best practices. The IT Director will also oversee the procurement and installation of equipment such as computers, network equipment, projectors, and smartboards, reducing the need for repetitive third-party involvement and cutting costs.
The role includes identifying, tracking, and maintaining all technologies, from billing software to teacher programs and student attendance systems to ensure compliance with best practices and prevent data breaches or compromised accounts. Effective vendor management and thorough market research will be crucial to ensuring that Merdinian obtains cost-effective and efficient solutions.
The IT Director will oversee cloud administration (Google Workspace) and GATLabs, as well as administer Blackbaud and testing infrastructure such as IXL and Star. This includes taking on the role of digital testing coordinator, managing backend software for testing infrastructure and handling associated responsibilities.
Project management will be a core function, with the IT Director leading and managing IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Coordination with stakeholders will be essential to align project goals with organizational objectives. For instance, if the Administration decides it's time to replace the Marquee, the IT Director would coordinate the project, aligning the Administration's desires with vendor options. The focus would be on selecting the most suitable solution for long-term strategic placement, not merely opting for the cheapest or easiest path but choosing a more challenging option if it offers greater long-term benefits.
Staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, the IT Director will introduce innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the IT department. Risk management will involve identifying and mitigating
IT-related risks, developing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans,
and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.

● Consolidation of software used amongst organizations.
● Improve the network to handle load and prep for expansion and upgrades.
● Re-evaluation of existing SLAs and recurring Opex.
● Establishing in-house methods for maintaining onsite equipment such as Projects, Workstations, Chromebooks.
