Title: Senior Software Engineer (SAP ABAP)

Location: Hybrid – Orlando, FL – onsite 4 days/week

Type of placement: Contract (40 hours per week)

Duration: 15 months (possibility of extensions)

Work Schedule: Normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 9am - 5pm EST

Pay Rate: $80-84.50/hr on W2 with benefits



Description:

The candidate must be able to work at the strategic program level and the tactical project level. The successful candidate must mitigate risk while delivering quality throughout the process. Flexibility and the ability to prioritize in a changing business environment will also be key. This Sr. Software Engineer position is a critical technology role, responsible for designing and developing software in Finance technology platforms with a focus on SAP Integrations between the larger finance ecosystem.

Specifically, this role will be responsible for developing software for:

  1. Payroll
  2. Source to Pay
  3. Acquire to Retire (Fixed Assets)
  4. General Accounting
  5. Lease Accounting
  6. HANA Sidecar
  7. SAP Business Warehouse
  8. Numerous other 3rd party applications


Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop and test high-performance, highly scalable and flexible software solutions with a focus on SAP S/4 integrations between internal and external systems
  2. Oversee technical coding changes and ensure they are standard and the appropriate syntax for performance on a large-scale ERP system
  3. Make recommendations on technical decisions for complex development scenarios requiring transformation from existing processes
  4. Translate business requirements to integration design specification
  5. Understand interdependencies of development changes, along with impacts to other cast members workstreams, and communicate these impacts
  6. Oversees the requirements process; ensures traceability of high-level requirements throughout the program
  7. Participates in data analysis activities as needed
  8. Manage delivery by vendor resources, driving toward on-time, on-budget, and on-function outcomes
  9. Ensures effective, proactive and open communications, horizontally and vertically, to achieve transparency and clarity of program goals, progress and issues
  10. Supports and actively works to create a healthy work team environment - bringing a measured response along with transparency and discipline to active discussions and communications
  11. Ability to document and understand complex integration pipelines from 100s of different systems across the globe


Basic Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study and equivalent work experience
  2. Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  3. Experience in Technology engineering roles for large/enterprise software companies including financial, technical, and business stakeholder executive facilitation
  4. Proven experience in managing and validating vendors’ work done on SAP applications
  5. Strong understanding of data governance and data messaging platforms including Cloud
  6. Experience with SAP ECC
  7. Experience with SAP IDOCs
  8. Experience with Web Service integration
  9. Experience creating and modifying SAP jobs (SM37)
  10. Experience with large data ERPs and understanding the performance impacts when writing code
  11. Can quickly learn new processes and understand the impacts of development changes to internal and external processes
  12. Experience with SAP S/4 a plus
  13. Experience writing ABAP programming language on HANA a plus
  14. Experience with Fiori and SAP Enterprise Portal a plus
  15. Experience with SAP BW and SAP BCS a plus
  16. Strong understanding and experience with:
  • Experienced in “Data” projects using Agile, Iterative and/or Waterfall SDLC methodologies
  • Experienced in extracting and documenting data and analytic requirements, working across all levels of users from senior executives to analysts
  • Track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with strong writing and speaking skills
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically with good attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to execute delivery on large programs with multiple projects - prioritization, planning and task delegation
  • Proven experience in participating in complex technical projects with complexity across stakeholders, multi-functional teams, requirements, and implementations.
  • Ability to think logically, communicate clearly, and be well organized


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with SAP S/4
  2. Experience with ETL tools like SAP middleware
  3. POSTMAN software experience
  4. Managing SAP BDC Sessions
  5. Effectively partners with vendors to understand their approach to new solutions, architectural standards, and frameworks
  6. Experience with SAP BCS

Compensation:

The estimated pay range for this position is USD $80-84.50/hr and is a/an Non-Exempt/Exempt role. Exact compensation and offers of employment are dependent on the circumstances of each case and will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, licenses or certifications, and location.
