Incomplete profiles will not be considered.PT Hours: 4 Hours/Day, Mon-Fri| Location: 2575 Reed Road, Houston, TX 77051Job Summary:The Alumni Engagement Specialist P/T will be responsible for maintaining meaningful connections with alumni from Star of Hope's various programs. This role involves tracking long-term successes, identifying ongoing or emerging needs, and ensuring they have access to appropriate resources and support. The specialist will work collaboratively with other departments and external partners to create a comprehensive support network that fosters stability and growth for these alumni. Key responsibilities include outreach, data collection, relationship building, and reporting on outcomes and impact of services provided by the Star of Hope continuum of care.Job Responsibilities:Gather information for all exiting residents/clients who meet the criteria for Star of Hope's Alumni program. Enter information into the HMIS Database (Case Worthy) to establish exiting "cohorts".Create a system of regular contacts with those exiting with each cohort to establish initial base line information and then continued communication following. Continued communication comprised of home visits, events/activity attendance, text/phone contact, emails, and other forms of communication where information is shared.Work with Program Directors and Managers to establish a "success" formulary and continue to gather information based on the outcomes and factors for each cohort.Encourage continued discipleship with the SOURCE materials and workbooks upon exit from Star of Hope. Share the Gospel, encourage from a biblical perspective, and pray with/for those in the Alumni program.Establish and maintain Facebook and Instagram accounts for the Star of Hope Alumni to engage those who may live in other cities, states, and countries.Organize an "in person" event each quarter for Star of Hope Alumni where they can share successes, struggles, and support one another.Incentivize participation among tentative Alumni by encouraging participation through raffles and prizes for those who engage regularly.Make appropriate referrals for Alumni who may experience struggles or require other interventions after leaving Star of Hope.Publish an Alumni Newsletter that will be sent bi-annually (twice/year) to share newsworthy events and announcements.Track all contacts: in person, phone, email, and otherwise, in the Case Worthy system.Use HIMS (Case Worthy and Client Track) to locate former residents/clients to establish contact.Record returns to homelessness for any Star of Hope Alumni whether the return is to Star of Hope or not. Keep records of reasons, and outcomes of any incident of displacement or return to homelessness.Monitor and oversee the activities of Interns assigned to this area.Other Job Responsibilities:Participate in Ministry and prayer activities, as appropriate.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Education, Skills & Experience: Bachelors degree in social service or related field. Previous case management experience helpful. Strong community engagement and an ease of rapport building is a must for the best candidate. A history working with low-income and disadvantaged populations and an understanding of homelessness and its causes is required.Strong oral and written communication skills necessary. Proven ability to communicate effectively with people from widely varied ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds. Able to de-escalate angry, combative individuals effectively. Strong conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to motivate others. Ability to assist others in moving toward success and achievement. Ability to coordinate activities, maintain confidentiality, solve problems, reason, teach, and produce detailed work. Capable of working with minimal supervision and functioning consistently and well in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude a must.Be able to work respectfully, professionally and in a Christ-like manner with everyone, able to maintain required client/staff boundaries and possess a willingness to serve the Lord in a ministry that deals with homeless men, women, and children.Equipment Used: Ability to use office equipment, computer, and other related office supplies included but not limited to, telephone, copier, calculator, etc. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is required. Valid Texas drivers license, with acceptable driving record required.Work Environment: Christ-centered community; housing programs, community engagement, and population of formerly homeless men, women, and families. Schedule may be subject to change including weekend and evening hours to meet the needs of the program. Moderate local and possibly out-of-state travel required. Exposure to infectious disease is a possibility. May experience some exposure to poor hygiene, drug usage, verbal and physical abuse, and other emergency situations relative to homeless and formerly homeless individuals. Dress code is business casual.Relations with Others: Extensive client contact; additional contact with donors, volunteers, community partners, and other social service agencies.Physical Requirements: Ability to move freely within community (program and city); long periods of sitting or standing may be required based on assignment. Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 20 pounds is required.
