We are currently seeking an Interim Controller to join a multi-location dentistry group to provide immediate oversight of our financial processes, with a heavy focus on accounts receivable (AR) and streamlining financial operations.


Position Summary:

The Interim Controller will play a critical role in assessing and improving financial processes, with a specific focus on AR management. This role requires a hands-on leader who can quickly evaluate and address any operational inefficiencies, ensuring the team is well-supported and that processes are optimized for timely and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience working in healthcare or multi-location service environments and will be able to swiftly implement corrective measures to improve cash flow and financial stability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate existing financial processes across all locations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with office managers and staff to ensure that financial practices align with business needs and compliance standards.
  • Deliver timely financial reporting and analysis to leadership, offering insights and recommendations for process improvements.
  • Train and mentor the accounting team to maintain accurate and timely financial records.
  • Monitor compliance with dental insurance billing practices and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist with month-end close, financial audits, and any other financial duties as required.
  • Act as a liaison between the finance team and executive leadership to ensure clear communication and alignment on financial goals.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with significant experience in AR management.
  • Experience in healthcare or dental industry strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of assessing and improving financial processes in multi-location businesses.
  • Strong understanding of dental billing, insurance claims, and collections processes.
  • Hands-on, solution-oriented approach with the ability to lead and implement changes swiftly.
