The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for gathering high-quality software requirements in an Agile development environment. This role involves performing UAT on completed work and providing clear stakeholder communication across business lines.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Elicit business requirements from business users and subject matter experts, gathering and cataloging functional, non-functional, and technical requirements.
  • Define and document requirements in Agile User Story format using SMART decomposition, and define corresponding business-driven acceptance criteria and test cases.
  • Assist in the operational rollout and provide support to the software development team.
  • Act as the product subject matter expert to support scope and requirement decisions.
  • Analyze and assist the Product Manager in prioritizing backlogs based on business value.
  • Participate in and facilitate Agile ceremonies such as Backlog Grooming, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Demos, and Sprint Retrospectives.
  • Proactively support the enhancement of Agile practices and foster a culture of continuous product and process improvement.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in specific functional areas for the assigned Scrum team.


Qualifications:


Education and Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience (MIS/BIS degrees preferred).
  • Certification in Agile Scrum, such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and/or Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
  • Minimum of 5 years of business analysis experience.
  • Experience with Agile methodology, including writing user stories, managing scrum calls, and prioritizing backlogs.
  • Experience delivering requirements for consumer-facing web and mobile solutions.


Preferred Experience

  • Some experience in project management and leadership.
  • Experience in financial services, with a preference for fintech or consumer lending.


Technical Skills/Abilities

  • Experience configuring and operating various software tools.
  • Proficient in Agile Project Management tools such as Jira, Rally, VersionOne, or similar platforms.
  • Expertise in uncovering hidden or non-functional requirements.
  • Strong understanding of software systems, technologies, and software development practices.

  • Ability to take strategic direction from executive management.
  • Organized, process-oriented, and able to complete tasks without significant guidance.
