Progressive International is seeking an experienced creative person to join our amazing team
The ideal candidate will possess a generalist mindset with a passion for packaging design, typography, and meticulous file management. This position will be a specialist in consumer-packaged goods and also create compelling graphics for, print/catalog, e-commerce and other marketing needs. Additionally, the candidate will have a high degree of technical knowledge in creating pre-press ready artwork, color theory, image editing including color corrections and manipulation.
The candidate will work closely with the creative team, assist in the photo studio and report to the Art Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively interpret briefs and respond with fresh, creative ideas and visual solutions for packaging design and marketing material
- Understand and design to the complexity of packaging and print systems and know how to design to and maintain the visual standard across multiple brands and product categories
- Creation of B2B materials – sell sheets, catalogs, large format trade show graphics and planograms, dealer merchandising
- Assist with photography post-production, including but not limited to color correcting, editing and manipulating raw files for output for print production and e-commerce while maintaining brand look and feel
- Work in the photography studio assisting the Art Director during photo and video shoots.
- Be able to work in a fast pace highly collaborative environment where effective communication and organizational skills are essential
- Oversee packaging development from concept to final mechanicals
- Create product packaging die lines and ability to output files to printer specifications
- Review and approve print production samples and clearly communicate changes to ensure timely completion of each project
- Verify packaging functionality and the accuracy of materials, inks, adhesives, and coatings
- Uphold and ensure brand guidelines are followed across packaging and all print collateral
- Develop and strengthen brand assets, including style and usage guides for multiple brands and product categories
What you will need to bring to the table:
- BA in Graphic Design or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience designing for brands and packaging design in a direct-to-consumer product marketing environment
- Highly proficient in Adobe Design Suite, with an emphasis in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Experience and working knowledge of the packaging development process as it relates to production art files
- Has strong mechanical knowledge of 3D forms and print materials
- Pre-press and print production experience
- Strong color sense – ability to work in various color fields including CMYK, Pantone color systems, DuoTone, and RGB
- Strong production, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Photography experience would be advantageous but not required
- Has a passion for food and cooking is helpful but not required
- Must provide portfolio of work to be considered for position
- Must also be able to occasionally stand for long periods of time
