Our client, a reputable construction company, is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accountant to join their finance team. This role will be responsible for managing project-specific accounting tasks and supporting the overall financial operations of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage job costing for multiple construction projects
  • Prepare and analyze project financial statements
  • Track and reconcile project revenues and expenses
  • Process and review subcontractor payments and change orders
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings
  • Prepare AIA billing documents and progress invoices
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable for projects
  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for construction projects
  • Ensure compliance with construction accounting standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with project managers to track project financials
  • Assist with audit preparation and liaising with external auditors

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in construction accounting
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and job costing
  • Familiarity with AIA billing and progress billing methods
  • Experience with construction-specific accounting software (e.g., Sage 300 CRE, Procore, or similar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Understanding of construction contracts and change order processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
