Student Position Title: Wellness Center Assistant Department: Athletics - Wellness Center Classification: Student Work Study Location: Athletic Facilities Pay Rate: $8.00 Supervisor: Wellness Center Coordinator Length of Employment: The term of employment for all student work study jobs is the beginning of the academic year to the end of the academic year at the end of the Spring semester. Both supervisors and student workers can end their employment at any time throughout this time frame. All individuals eligible for student work study must be enrolled in and maintain a minimum of six (6) credit hours of enrollment throughout their employment and remain in good academic standing as outlined by school policies and federal financial aid guidelines. JOB SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Wellness Center Coordinator, the Wellness Center Assistant is responsible for assisting with facility management and clean up, customer service, and ensuring a safe, clean, and friendly atmosphere for students, employees, and community members. Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesTo understand and commit to the Mission of the College ~ Dodge City Community College provides a student-centered learning environment where students can achieve their educational, personal, and career goals. Assist staff and athletic administration with facility management including, but not limited to, setup/cleanup of equipment, sanitizing and cleaning facilities and equipment, organizing supplies, emptying trash cans, folding towels, etc. Assist patrons with questions regarding workout equipment and machines. Assist students enrolled in Lifetime Fitness Classes to complete their required workout logs and help them clock in and out on the computer for attendance. Assist with any office work or administrative assistant duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or athletic administration including, but not limited to, office work, copying of materials, filing, etc. Assist with athletic game day operations as assigned by the supervisor including, but not limited to, taking tickets, assisting at fundraising events, working in the concession stand, etc. All other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or athletic administration. The above job description supersedes all previous descriptions. The description is intended to be a toll to describe the primary purpose of the job and the Essential Functions and Responsibilities. Required QualificationsHigh school diploma/GED Must be enrolled in and maintain six (6) credit hours at Dodge City Community College. Must remain in good academic standing. Available in the evenings and on weekends. Preferred QualificationsDependable and responsible. Excellent time management skills. Ability to follow detailed instructions. General knowledge of athletics. Self motivated. Physical QualificationsAbility to bend, stoop, jump, kneel, and sit/stand for extended periods of time. Ability to carry equipment and supplies. Ability to ambulate and navigate stairs and ramps throughout the campus.
