Join Us As We Empower The World To Work Out, Creating Healthier Lives TogetherAs Director Of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), you'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the company's global environmental, health, and safety strategies to ensure the well-being of employees, customers, contractors, and visitors, as well as compliance with all applicable regulations. You'll partner closely with senior leadership, plant managers, facilities leaders, and field operations to create a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.We're looking for a Director Of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) to lead our global EHS strategy and strengthen our culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement. Ready to raise the bar in EHS leadership?As the Director, Environmental, Health & Safety, you will:Strategic LeadershipManage a comprehensive, multi-year EHS strategy aligned with corporate goals and operational objectivesServe as the company's senior EHS leader, advising leadership on risk, compliance, sustainability, and incident trendsFoster a strong safety culture that prioritizes hazard prevention, employee engagement, and shared accountabilityRegulatory Compliance & Risk ManagementIn partnership with the Legal, Quality, and other appropriate functions, ensure company-wide compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other federal, state, and local EHS regulations, as well as applicable international standardsOversee EHS audits, inspections, and corrective actions for all sitesDevelop and maintain company EHS policies, procedures, and training programsLead the company's incident investigation process, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action plansEnvironmental Stewardship & SustainabilityLead initiatives to reduce the company's environmental footprint, including energy use, waste reduction, water conservation, and greenhouse gas emissionsEnsure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with regulationsPartner with product development teams to assess and mitigate environmental impacts across the equipment life cycleHealth & Safety OperationsOversee safety programs across manufacturing, warehouse, installation, sales, and service operations, including ergonomics, machine guarding, electrical safety, fall protection, and safety protocolsDevelop job hazard analyses, safe work practices, and emergency response proceduresPartner with HR and Operations to manage workers' compensation cases, return-to-work programs, and injury prevention initiativesEnsure service teams have the appropriate safety equipment, training, and compliance support for working at customer sitesTraining & EngagementImplement EHS onboarding and ongoing training for all employees, contractors, and relevant third partiesLead safety committees and employee engagement programs that promote proactive hazard reporting and continuous improvementCommunicate EHS performance, goals, and successes across the organization to reinforce accountability and recognitionData, Reporting & Continuous ImprovementEstablish and track key EHS KPIs to monitor compliance, risk, and improvement progressPrepare regular reports for senior leadership on EHS performance, compliance status, and strategic initiativesBenchmark best practices in EHS management and drive continuous improvement initiativesWhat Life Fitness / Hammer Strength is looking for in our Director, Environmental, Health & Safety:Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field10+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience, including multi-site responsibility in a manufacturing environment; experience in an environment with field sales and service preferredProven track record of developing and implementing successful global EHS programsExperience in a durable goods manufacturing environment strongly preferredKnowledge & SkillsIn-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards across multiple jurisdictionsStrong leadership and influencing skills, able to drive change across diverse global operations by building strong, collaborative working relationshipsExcellent communication, training, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage all levels of the organizationDemonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement preventive measuresSkilled in managing EHS in both manufacturing and customer-facing field environments strongly preferredWork Environment & TravelRole is based out of either manufacturing facility in Ramsey, MN or Owatonna, MN with frequent presence on the production floor, in warehouses, at sales offices, and at sites where products are sold, installed, and servicedDomestic and international travel required (up to 40%) to support the global footprintAt Life Fitness / Hammer Strength, we think customer first, play as one team, and raise the bar on fitness innovation in the gym and in every corner of our facilities.
