Finance DirectorThe Finance Director will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company. Included in the departmental responsibilities will be Accounting, HR, Insurance/Safety, Reception & Office Supply Procurement & Management. Essential duties and responsibilities include recruiting, training, and supervising a staff of competent, dependable, and efficient finance professionals and administrators to complete all finance-related tasks. Work alongside the president to ensure a streamlined approach meeting company goals and objectives. Participate in Electric and Environmental EOS meetings to ensure leadership alignment and support on goals and strategies. Continually focus on how efficiencies and effectiveness can be improved upon. Develop and document processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Provide timely and accurate financial reports due to directors by the 10th day after published month close. Collaborate with other managers and directors to ensure alignment and accuracy. Maintain a documented system of accounting principles and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk. Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Produce the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management. Provide financial analysis, including capital investments, pricing decisions and contract approvals & negotiations. Work with external auditors and CPA firm; provide needed information for annual audits and year-end tax filings. Ensure compliance with local, state and federal government requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Ensure coverage for company phone system, meeting or exceeding business hours. Provide budget resources and oversee budget activities for entire management team. Maintain a culture of high expectations paired with high levels of acknowledgement and recognition. Travel, as needed to other offices or outside training programs to maintain knowledge of necessary principles or policies. Accurately and timely, process payroll, ensuring job related expenses are captured correctly. Oversee budgeting efforts for IT related costs and ensure accurate GL allocation. Assist with managing our IT partner and related costs. Oversee budgeting and HR related efforts required where safety incidents and reporting are required. Administer and complete background checks, onboard employees and ensure compliance with employment practices. Maintain accurate GLs of all charges, with comments entered for all entries, reversals, etc. to enhance accuracy for budgets. Provide timely and accurate updates to the president regarding cash position, interest paid, AP and AR projections and other important financial planning inputs to aid in building financial strategy. Insurance Renewals, 401k Benefits compliance and administration.
