Role Overview

As our Systems and Applications Manager, you'll play a crucial role in driving efficiency, enhancing data integrity, and optimizing our business processes. Under the direction of a senior level manager is responsible for performing senior professional level business systems analysis and project management activities which include planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining company-wide business applications and computer systems. Determines business requirements, conducts process analysis and prioritization.


The Systems Application Manager carries out the system support activities and oversight for the company or specific area within the organization/customerbase



Your responsibilities will include:


· Vendor Management - Systems & IT

· Business Analysis & Data Integrity

· Business Process Analysis

· System Integration Management

· System Security & User Setup

· Systems & Technical Project Management

· Process Development and Management

· Leading with accountability


1. Performs project management and participates on project teams responsible for system hardware and application software implementation and upgrades; determines project scope and staff resources required to complete projects; prepares project work plans and timelines. Monitors project milestones and reports project progress to management. Works closely with technical staff, vendors, and contacts from other departments to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.


2. Assures technical support problem resolution related to networks, servers, desktops, database management software, operating systems, and/or business application software systems. Performs system administration activities, which includes coordinating and managing the purchasing, installation, and configuration of desktops, software, and related application software upgrades.


3. Creates and maintains standards, procedures, and documentation related to area of responsibility. May participate in computer audits and perform testing for disaster recovery process, ensuring a secure processing environment that protects the integrity and availability of information.


4. Implements system changes and administers access to systems and information utilizing approved information technology security policies, standards and guidelines.


5. May supervise technical/support staff as required by individual position(s); participates in hiring, evaluating, training, disciplining, and discharging employees as necessary.


6. Effectively communicates with all levels of the organization to ensure project success and user needs are identified and met.

· Communicating effectively through oral and written mediums.

Qualifications and Preferred Skills

While not required, the following qualifications and skills would be beneficial:

· Knowledge of intermodal transportation and the flow of business

· Experience in business process development.

· Familiarity with Truckmate or other TMS Transportation Management System.

· Strong SQL Query Skills

· RPA – Robotic Process Automation

· API Connections

· EDI Electronic Data Interchange

· Power BI

· SCRUM / Agile
