Job Purpose


GC Therapeutics is seeking a talented and highly motivated Scientist to join our in-vivo team. This role will involve bringing a new class of cellular therapies to patients using GCTx’s Human TFome™ platform, a synthetic biology-driven technology to differentiate human stem cells. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing, executing, and analyzing in vivo studies using animal models of disease. Thiscandidate will be involved in all aspects of our experiments to assess GCTx’s cell therapies in small animal models.


Duties and Responsibilities


General Laboratory Roles:


· Responsible for experimental design, data generation, analysis, and communication of results to supervisor and team members.

· Maintain a detailed laboratory journal, summarize results, and create presentations for internal group meetings.

· Exemplify scientific curiosity and deep expertise with relevant literature and cutting-edge technologies to advance research directions.

· Work with other members of the research team and within GCTx to accomplish company goals.

· Follow all safe laboratory practices and company policies.


Specific Responsibilities:


· Design and execute experiments to evaluate GCTx’s cell therapies in preclinical animal models of disease.

· Keep accurate and detailed records of animal care.

· Follow IACUC protocol and all other animal care compliance regulations.

· Perform biochemical and histological assays on tissue samples from preclinical studies.

· Analyze data from in vivo studies and report findings to the company.


Qualifications


Essential Qualifications:


· Ph.D. degree in stem cell biology, cell biology, bioengineering, biochemistry, or related discipline and 3 years of laboratory work experience in academia or industry.

· Required expertise in rodent handling and surgeries, including hands-on experience with injecting or transplanting cells into rodents.

· Experience in immunohistochemistry, histology, and image analysis.

· Strong work ethic with the ability to perform tasks independently.

· Proficient in analysis, presentation, and documentation of scientific data as well as preparation of scientific reports.

· Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

· Strong project management and organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask.


Additional Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with cell culture (e.g. hiPSCs, primary cells)

· Practical familiarity with stem cell differentiation protocols.

· Proven track record and strong publications in cell biology and animal work.
