Our Challenge:

As a Production Support Engineer, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to work on complex technical requirements. You will be responsible for managing multiple engagements, prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary, in a fast-paced environment.


The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Provide production support for Hadoop-based applications and platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data ingestion, processing, and storage in Hadoop clusters
  • Monitor system performance, perform root cause analysis, and implement proactive measures to prevent issues
  • Develop and maintain Unix shell scripts for automation and monitoring tasks
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting
  • Collaborate with development teams to deploy new code, perform upgrades, and implement enhancements in the Hadoop ecosystem
  • Contribute to Spark development and optimization to support data processing and analytics workloads
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Hadoop solutions with existing systems and applications


Requirements:

You are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in production support roles with a focus on Hadoop and related technologies
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments and Bash scripting for automation and monitoring
  • Strong SQL skills for data querying, analysis, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Spark development, performance tuning, and optimization
  • Knowledge of Java and Python programming languages would be a strong advantage
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach to support and service delivery
