The Tarp Operator will tarp trucks in the warehouse safely and efficiently to safely transport products from CertainTeed to our customers. Shift work will be flexible based on completion of daily loads before leaving. Shift: 1st shift (7:00AM-3:00PM) (potentially later to complete daily load lists) Compensation: $20.00/hourJob DutiesSafety & ComplianceUnderstand all Plant Safety RulesUnderstand all safety procedures associated with the tarp operationUnderstand and follow all SOPs related to the tarp operationUnderstand and manage all plant emergency situations and proceduresReport all safety incidents to Distribution Lead, Supervisor or Manager, and/or EHS ManagerProper use of necessary PPE required in the plant work areasUnderstand pedestrian & mobile equipment safety in the various work areasTarpingStrap and edge protector application proceduresTarp machine operations (machine operations)Ergonomics associated with handling tarpsErgonomics associated with handling tarp materials (poly sheet rolls)Understand hand safety associated with strap & tarp handlingOther DutiesGeneral housecleaning of the work areaComplete Employee Safety Orientation and all safety training programsPerform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goalsRequired QualificationsHigh school or equivalent or related experienceExcellent teamworking skillsAbility to demonstrate acceptable attendance and work days, nights, or weekends as scheduled and required by workload.Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hard hatsAbility to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 poundsWorking ConditionsAbility to work in warehouse setting, including various climate environmentsAbility to work in Production floor elements, including dust, noise & odorsAbility to demonstrate acceptable attendanceAbility and willingness to work overtime as requiredPhysical DemandsAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hard hatsAbility to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 poundsPerksWe provide unique options to fit your unique lives Our Total Rewards Program is customizable to accommodate your needs.
