Construction Superintendent

  

MISSION

 

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing Pinemar’s construction projects from start up to final completion. The Superintendent works both independently and as part of a delivery team with the Project Manager, Project Executive, lead carpenters, and trade partners.

 

The successful Superintendent is a solutions-oriented builder who possesses a positive mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for expertly building challenging and complex projects. 

 

The Construction Superintendent’s role on the team and in the company is to delight our clients and design partners by delivering the highest quality completed projects, executed efficiently and according to the design intent, while meeting the project’s schedule and budget goals.

 

OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.    Successfully launch, manage, and complete projects from pre-construction phase to final close out with professionalism, using the highest quality construction methods and project management processes.

2.    Maintain a sustained high level of productivity by proactively identifying and resolving constructability issues with the plans and clearly communicating information needed by field staff, trade partners, and material suppliers ahead of time.

3.    Complete projects in strict accordance with the design team’s plans and specifications.

4.    Act as the client’s primary point of contact throughout the project life cycle and conduct bi-weekly project status meeting with homeowner and design team:

a.    Responsible for preparing agendas and supporting information for weekly or bi-monthly project meetings and completing minutes following each meeting

5.    Develop and manage the construction schedule.

6.    Assist with estimating, ordering and inspecting materials.

7.    Manage Submittal and Shop drawing review processes.

8.    Manage on-site employees, labor, material providers, and trade partners.

9.    Responsible for quality control: conducting quality inspections and working with labor and trade partners to address any deficiencies.

10. Lead efforts to ensure a safe project site.

11. Provide training on company policy, guidelines, and procedures to production personnel.

12. Light carpentry and other work on an as needed basis to keep the project on schedule.

13. Provide field support for one or multiple jobsites, depending on the Pinemar workload.

14. As the public face of Pinemar on the project, the Superintendent will embody Pinemar’s core values and mission statement and conduct himself/herself professionally and with integrity in all interactions with project stakeholders: clients, architects, designers, trade partners, consultants and municipal officials.

 

CAPABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

 

·      15+ years running projects in high end custom home construction

·      Excellent communication, job coordination, organizational, leadership, and supervisory skills

·      Creative problem solver

·      Strong leadership, team building and mentoring skills

·      A patient, service oriented, “customer first” attitude

·      A deep understanding of all trades relevant to residential construction, both renovation and new construction

·      Must be available for extended work hours as required. Weekend work may be required, based on workload.

·      Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Procore and Smartsheets experience a plus
