Position Summary

The occupational nurse will be responsible for providing day to day first aid, oversight of work related restrictions, workers compensation, OSHA record keeping, and wellness programs for team members. The occupational nurse will work to implement preventative measures that ensure the health and wellbeing of team members.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assure compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations
  • Responsible for securing and developing all records, equipment, and programs related to occupational health services
  • Manage work related injuries in accordance to OSHA regulations
  • Manage all occupational injury cases
  • Assess healthcare needs and facilitate return to work programs
  • Assist departments with identifying, evaluating, and implementing accommodations and return to work options for workers with restricted duty
  • Assist in ensuring employee compliance with employee work restrictions, light duty and return to work programs
  • Collaborate and coordinate all referrals with outside resources, such as healthcare providers, third-party administrators, legal advisors, regulatory agencies, etc., as needed to facilitate productivity, assuring appropriate care and return to work
  • Manage Workers Compensation claims in conjunction with current workers comp provider
  • Manage required physical evaluation programs; such as pre-employment physicals, and/or services to meet regulatory requirements, such as OSHA, Department of Transportation, etc.
  • Coordinate and administer the company’s Drug-Free Workplace Program
  • Coordinate and administer Kubota wellness programs, such as flu shots, Hepatitis B vaccinations.
  • Coordinate and administer baseline and annual hearing audiograms
  • Assist with the accident investigation program to identify root cause analysis of all incidents and near misses
  • Contribute in the design of controls for injury prevention and health surveillance
  • related to actual and potential hazards in the work environment
  • Assist in reinforcement of workplace safety procedures and programs
  • Performs special projects as requested and related tasks as needed


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years occupational nursing experience
  • Degree in Nursing (or equivalent) Current valid State of GA license
  • Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
  • Strong aptitude for organization, prioritization and managing multiple tasks at the same time
  • English language competency and legible writing ability
  • Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work with little to no oversight.


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bilingual a plus (English / Spanish)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Preferred certifications include: OSHA 10 or 30 hour Certification, First Aid, CPR and/or First Responder

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the team member must have the ability to work in extreme hot or cold conditions, stand for the duration of the shift, uses hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; ascend stairs; balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear. In addition, the team member must occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
