WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
This position is a temporary contract role with an end date of February 28 2024. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Business Support you are a leader who enjoys building relationships with clients and your team. You are a numbers person who thrives in an environment that involves systems people and financials.  You enjoy developing others and working closely with many departments and it just so happens youll be doing just that in an awardwinning hotel.

The Credit Manager will support the Director Front Office by leading our Accounts Receivable team through building trust and relationships by nurturing a work culture that celebrates diversity inclusiveness belonging growth and development and by inspiring colleagues to deliver heartfelt experiences for each and every guest.

  • Consistently offer professional friendly and engaging service
  • Supervise the AR Supervisor and Coordinator positions
  • Organize and Conduct the monthly credit meeting
  • Attend precons communicate billing arrangements develop solid relationships with clients
  • Prepare / supervise the preparation of group billings; send to client within the P&P requirement
  • Approve Direct billing as required
  • Ensure group deposit policy is adhered to following group contract specifications
  • Manage the AR aging. Collect all accounts as timely as possible
  • Take more aggressive collection actions as required
  • Liaison with front office ensuring guest ledger is clean with no unsettled charges
  • Set expectations with the AR Supervisor and Coordinator positions monitor and review their progress
  • Attend precons as required establish strong positive relationships with clients
  • Perform daily billing review meetings with clients or as requested
  • Coordinate interaction with other finance staff as required  
  • Ensure chargebacks and related queries are processed
  • Monitor and check monthly house accounts
  • Maintain office supplies and reorder as required
  • Provide office administration duties as required
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Follow all safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Frequent sitting throughout shift
  • Occasional kneeling pushing pulling lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders stairs and ramps

Qualifications :

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • Previous leadership experience required
  • Previous PMS experience preferred
  • Previous office administration or accounting experience preferred
  • Computer savvy in Microsoft Window applications an asset
  • University/College degree in a related discipline an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs remaining calm and courteous at all times
