Must Haves:

  • 5 years for experience working as a Controls Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or software engineering
  • Extensive software programming experience - Siemens based preferred
  • Direct program experience with assembly and machining controls architectures (hardware/software)
  • Validated programming capabilities with Siemens, Schneider, Bosch PLCs and with CNC/Motion controls systems
  • Hands-on knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and fix PLC, CNC, robot, vision and other automation issues
  • Demonstrated skill in cell machining systems and integration of CNC controls, gantries and auxiliary equipment
  • Experience overseeing projects, delivering on programs
  • Strong leadership, go getter attitude will be leading the suppliers


Day to Day:

  • Support the assembly and machining controls engineering deliverables for PTO programs, from simultaneous engineering through program launch for all Global PTO sites.
  • Working directly with suppliers and overseeing their work for controls engineering.
  • Overseeing projects and delivering on programs will be the main goal of this goal.
  • Implement and apply standard software and hardware controls architectures across all programs/plants, following the PTO controls specification.
  • Ensure the identification and capture of lessons learned along with their application to new programs, as well as the impact to existing strategies and standards.
  • Support simultaneous engineering meetings with Tier I suppliers to orchestrate controls program reviews with all interested parties.
  • Participate in management program reviews and represent the controls organization in commodity discussions.
  • Drive the controls organization to resolve issues, including feasibility, timing, cost and workload.
  • Handle current scope program responsibilities.
  • Deliver new model program work for various Powertrain programs supporting and working in either SE MI, Ohio or Windsor, ONT.
