The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of Gas Turbine combustion and cooling components.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Design industrial Gas Turbine (GT) auxiliary components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Coordinate with various disciplines to include aerothermal, structural, and manufacturing engineering to develop designs that meet criteria.
  • Analyze components to ensure they meet appropriate criteria and life requirements.
  • Select appropriate materials, coatings, etc to ensure applicable stress level viability.
  • Analyze OEM design features, materials and cooling configuration to understand the system design.
  • Run comparisons of different OEM engines, models, and versions to identify the most effective solution.
  • Support Field Services, Configuration Management, and Drafting teams with part numbers, assembly numbers, and system configurations for OEM and PSM hardware.
  • Provide customized solutions and technical information to the commercial team and customers.
  • Conduct reviews of relevant data on components and specific engine upgrades.
  • Visit customer sites to support installation of hardware.
  • Support the field services team on-site as needed.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of engine durability and shortcomings.
  • Asses needs and identify critical path schedules for design, manufacturing and procurement activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience designing and manufacturing gas turbine components
  • Experience with rotating and stationary airfoils
  • CAD and FEA software experience
  • Knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes
  • Experience with drafting practices and ASNSI Geometric Tolerancing standards
