We specialize in next-generation technologies for aircraft engines, rocket turbopumps and industrial power equipment and focused on the development and production of small, affordable, high-performance jet engines for cruise missiles and unmanned aerial systems (UAS).


We provide a one-stop shop with capabilities in design, aerodynamics, performance, heat transfer and secondary flow, rotor dynamics and bearing design, structural analysis and life predictions, manufacturing, testing, and field support.

Our Turbine Technologies division also provides engineering services, testing services, and material solutions for military and commercial engines, space propulsion, and industrial power-producing applications.


Additional offices in Derby, UK and Wildau, Germany extend FTT's reputation for engineering excellence to the European marketplace and provide access to a European supply chain and next generation manufacturing capabilities.


Our parent company, Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, leverages cross-industry capabilities to deliver innovative, cost-saving solutions for all its customers.

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. FTT will require proof of status prior to employment.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
Designs and analyzes aircraft electrical, mechanical, propulsion, and component structures, systems and processes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Engineers will have the technical background and sufficient knowledge to perform all phases of hardware design, development and documentation.

Uses computer-aided design (CAD) to produce initial design and specifications for aircraft components.

Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified aircraft system designs.

Documents changes through a formal engineering change notification process.

Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.


Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Builds productive internal/external working relationships.

Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Other job duties as assigned.

Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties, including computer skills.

Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Engineer will have at minimum a BS in an applicable engineering field.

At least 5-8 years of applicable work experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Office and/or manufacturing environment.

Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones, rotating wrist, using tools/equipment).

Ability to lift and/or carry objects and materials.

Tasks may involve climbing, balancing, and/or crouching.

Tasks require sound and visual perception.
