Supervisor, Shipping & Receiving


Salary:

- Based on experience: $45K-$60K

- $500 sign-on bonus


Requirements:

- MUST be bilingual

- MUST have Produce Industry experience


Job Objective:

- Responsible for all shipping and receiving functions at the assigned facility on the 2nd shift.

- Includes preparation of goods and fruit for shipping, evaluation of fruit received and shipped, keeping current inventories of fruit and supplies, and directing subordinate employees.


Essential Job Functions:

- Ensure trucks are loaded in order of arrival at the dock.

- Load or instruct employees to load each truck, ensuring variety, size, and count accuracy.

- Ensure all bills of lading are filled out completely and signed by truck drivers.

- Contact local, county, and U.S.D.A. to arrange appointments for required export inspections.

- Oversee loading of all export containers to ensure T-bars and airbags are installed, and Phyto and U.S.D.A. inspection reports are sent.

- Verify pack-out by variety and size.

- Conduct physical inventory by day code, variety, and size, and verify with book inventory.

- Enter pack-out and inventories into the computer; maintain a weekly inventory of pallets and stacking lock strips, placing orders as needed.

- Distribute copies of pack-out, inventory, and computer printouts to corporate.

- Send weekly reports to the Manager or Director of the facility, including regular and overtime hours for the shipping department.

- Contact customers for standard and cull sales.

- Calculate timecards for each pay period.

- Maintain cleanliness of office and shipping dock areas.

- Inspect all incoming fruit for quality assurance and complete appropriate inspection forms.

- Perform other duties and projects as assigned or required.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

- Flexibility with schedule.

- Degree preferred but not required, or a combination of education and work experience.

- Five+ years of experience in shipping and inventory control in the Produce industry.

- Previous supervisory experience.

- Two+ years of operating a forklift and a pallet jack; forklift certification preferred.

- Highly developed skills in organization, communication (verbal and written; both English and Spanish required), problem resolution, and customer service.

- Working knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook); working knowledge of JDE and Kirkey is highly desired.

- Commitment to the company’s values and ethics.

- Attention to detail.

- Ability to multitask.


Conditions:

- Physical Demands:

- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to manipulate tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and climb stairs.

- Occasionally required to sit.

- Occasionally must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

- Specific vision abilities: close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

- Work Environment:

- Noise level is usually moderate to high.

- Temperatures may vary due to the time of year (summer, winter).

- Must endure periods in a refrigeration unit (temperature maintained at 50 degrees); required to wear hats, gloves, and coats.


Schedule Overview:

- Mon - Fri, rotating weekends as necessary

- 2:00 pm - Finish

- Must work every other Saturday.


Must Have:

- Flexibility with schedule

- Bilingual (preferred English/Spanish)
