As a Mainframe Software Architect, you will play a critical role in leading the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality software applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that align with our business goals and client needs.What You'll DoProvide leadership and expertise in the design, development, and implementation of software applications to support Fiserv's business goals.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.Perform advanced coding, testing, and debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance.Maintain and improve existing codebases and lead peer review processes.Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers and team members.Drive innovation and best practices within the software development team.The responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.Experience You'll Need To Have13+ years of experience in large-scale IT system development, hands-on software development experience designing, writing, debugging, and testing.13+ years of experience in mainframe technology including MVS, CICS, COBOL, JCL, and MQ that support large payment processors.13+ years of experience in the financial industry, especially with mainframe experience with a financial payments platform or similar.Exceptional communication and presentation skills, emotional intelligence, with the ability to listen, advise, empathize, and explain to varied audiences, at all levels.Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to see the connections between layers of business operations.Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, and/or equivalent military experience.Experience That Would Be Great To HaveTechnical experience in DB2 and relational databases.Experience in Java or similar development.Important Info About This RoleWe're better together This role is fully on-site.This is a full-time, direct-hire position, and no contract options or unsolicited agency submissions will be considered.In order to be considered, you must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Rhode Island or Washington.
