Title: Engineering Technician

Location: Carmel, IN/Greater Indianapolis area

Pay Rate:

• $18-20/hr for Tech 1

• $20-23/hr if they are Tech II

Schedule: Mon-Fri with some overtime required. (Mornings can start as early as 3am depending on client schedules and days can be 8-10 hour). You will be paid overtime. Early mornings and late nights are possible

Duration: 6-month contract to permanent hire


Must Haves:

• Interested in working in the engineering field

• Comfortable with manual labor and working nights

• Construction background

• High school diploma or GED

• Valid driver’s license

• Ability to read blueprints

• Technologically competent – our client is completely digital (app on phone, etc.)


Plusses:

• Testing experience (concrete, soil, other construction materials, etc.)


Overview:

Insight Global is looking for a Materials Engineering Technician for a large engineering consulting firm in Carmel, IN. The ideal candidate will perform regular testing, observation, and inspection of construction projects such as apartment complexes, hotels, and retirement homes. They will communicate about the construction site and project requirements with the PM, other engineering technicians, and the client.


Each day, they will go to the job site(s), perform necessary responsibilities for the client, then go home. They will do field and lab work, test soils, and occasionally work with concrete. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working 1-2 nights a week. They should have excellent communication skills and adhere to strict safety standards. A valid driver’s license is required as they will be driving a company vehicle each day and get to take the vehicle home.
