Position Title: Accountant Position Reports to: VP of Finance and Accounting Supervises: None Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting Location: Colorado Springs, CO Career Level: Individual ContributorSalary: $60,000 - $75,000 (DOE) Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision insurance Life/Short-Term Disability Paid Time Off (PTO) Profit-sharing Bonus 401K Investment with 6% company match Summary: We seek a detail-oriented Accountant to perform accounting tasks in collaboration with internal departments. As a member of the Challenger Group Support Accounting team, you will assist in daily, monthly, and annual activities, audits, resolving discrepancies, reporting, and ad hoc duties as assigned. Primary Accountabilities: Collaborates with internal departments to gather and analyze relevant financial dataEnters financial data such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and interdepartmental entries into the ledgerPerforms account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correctComplies with internal accounting proceduresMaintains accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoicesSupports the loan draw processes and Accounts Payable processes as neededGathers supporting documentation and performing recordkeepingAssists with preparation for annual auditsPerforms administrative and other tasks as neededAssists with special projects as neededPerforms other related duties as assigned by management Minimum required Education/Credentials/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Bachelor’s degree in AccountingCompetency in accounting and business management softwareProficient in ExcelAnalytical, time management and organizational skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering financial dataAbility to maintain confidentialityPreferred Education/Credentials/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and industry regulationsExperience and/or desire to participate in reviewing tax returns (Partnerships – Form 1065)Key Personal Traits: Embraces the company’s mission, vision, culture, and valuesTreats all they encounter with respect and dignity, creating an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust, and effective/transparent communicationDemands excellence from self, striving always to grow, learn, and develop as a human being and leaderLoves to work while maintaining a healthy work-life balanceAssumes full ownership and a commitment to the team's mutual successEqual Opportunity Employer/Smoke-Free Campus
