Arthrex Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex Manufacturing is actively searching for an Operations Excellence – Project Manager II to work at our Ave Maria, FL. Location. The Operations Excellence Project Manager is responsible for teaching, implementing, and assisting management in the application of LEAN methodology to shop-floor, business, and new product introduction processes. This is a First shift, (8:00am-5:00pm), (Monday- Friday)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates Kaizen for shopfloor, business and new product introduction processes utilizing LEAN methodology for systemic and tactical problem solving and rapid improvement.
  • Applies Lean and Six Sigma methodologies in the implementation of process excellence and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Drives the standardization of processes and the implementation of metrics and best practices.
  • Understands and actively engages management to ensure the right balance of business and personnel needs are addressed. 
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization as appropriate to gain and maintain support for initiatives.

Knowledge:

  • Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards. 
  • General application of concepts and principles.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. 
  • Refers to policies and practices for guidance.

Discretion/ Latitude:

  • Works under very general supervision.  Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.

Skills:

  • Knowledgeable of FDA and ISO guidelines for the development of medical devices preferred.
  • Manufacturing process knowledge required.
  • Project management and communication skills training required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process change efforts.
  • Supply Chain process knowledge preferred.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Time management – Manage one’s own time and the time of others.
  • Leadership – Requires a willingness to lead, take charge, and provide direction.
  • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Business Acumen – Ability to work up and down the chain of command.  Capable of holding audience with Manager and Director levels, and under supervision with Sr. Director / VP and SVP levels.

Reports To:

Operations Excellence Manager

Education / Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years in industry required
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS or BA)

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
