Our tech stack primarily runs on AWS and includes technologies such as Python, React, Hashistack, and Docker. We are highly data-driven, utilizing tools like Clickhouse, Deltalake, Postgres, and Kafka. We value a systematic approach to problem-solving and employ techniques such as Domain Driven Design to manage complexity. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on both frontend and backend systems. We seek engineers with extensive experience in data and backend development, but those with a willingness to explore front-end engineering are also encouraged to apply. Areas You Will Contribute To: Developing intuitive internal APIs and data-intensive products that serve as the foundation of our demand response platform Creating public-facing APIs and comprehensive developer documentation Building a unified platform for collecting and processing customer documents and utility data Delivering accurate and timely notifications for grid emergency events to facilitate customer and internal responses Designing internal tools, such as analytics and scripting environments, that provide practical solutions for technically adept internal users Key Responsibilities: Designing and implementing modular, composable primitives and APIs that capture the core business logic for managing a diverse portfolio of energy resources Understanding the energy industry’s rules, regulations, and standards to effectively create software solutions Collaborating with internal experts in energy markets to translate complex market dynamics into discoverable and extensible production code Contributing to the engineering roadmap, vision, and overall goals Establishing clear and specific success criteria in partnership with key stakeholders Leading major initiatives that encompass new customer-facing products, sophisticated automations for internal stakeholders, and scaling data infrastructure Providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members Qualifications: 8+ years of software engineering experience Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in designing and managing scalable data models Experience with cloud-native application design and development, employing APIs, containers, and infrastructure-as-code Solid foundation in system architecture Ability to translate complex business domains into maintainable, scalable systems A commitment to writing well-tested, readable, and maintainable code Compensation for this role ranges from $160,000 to $190,000 per year, dependent on experience, plus a 10% bonus paid semi-annually and equity options.
