Description


Our client is a growth-oriented manufacturer and producer of infrastructure-related products and services. The company has businesses with leading positions in construction, energy, and transportation markets with annual revenues near $2B.

As a Frontend Senior Engineer you will develop processes, reports, services, documentation or scientific applications using broad engineering concepts and research techniques.


What you’ll do:

Design and Develop Front End Applications:

• Design, develop, and maintain front end applications using .NET technologies such as ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Core, or Blazor

• Develop and maintain back end components using MS SQL Server, including database design, querying, and optimization

• Write TSQL scripts and create database objects, including stored procedures, user-defined functions, views, and indexes, to support backend data processing

• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior team members


Design and Develop Reporting Solutions:

• Utilize Microsoft Power BI to design and develop reporting solutions that align with business requirements

• Implement data visualization techniques to enhance graphical report design and user experience


Translate Business Requirements

• Collaborate with stakeholders to scope and understand business requirements

• Document business requirements into comprehensive technical specifications and communicate with Front-End Development team


Maintain and Enhance BI Data Backend

• Take charge of maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the business intelligence data backend, encompassing data lakes and data warehouses

• Provide Data Quality Assurance and conduct rigorous data quality checks to uphold data integrity across all reporting and analytics solutions


Documentation

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation that includes system design, technical requirements, and user manuals for the organization

• Ensure documentation is up-to-date and readily available for reference


Ad-Hoc Data Exploration

• Undertake ad-hoc data exploration projects to address specific data-related inquiries or to discover insights that contribute to informed decision-making


Collaborative Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and continuously improve reporting solutions

• Support other team members as needed and contribute to the overall success of the business intelligence function


Other Duties

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the BI team and the organization

• Stay updated with the latest technologies, best practices, and industry trends related to front end development, back end development, and business analysis

• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives


What you'll need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• 5+ years’ experience in Front End development using .NET technologies

• 5+ years’ experience creating complex reports and dashboard applications

• 5+ years’ experience with SQL, with proven ability to write complex efficient queries and stored procedures

• Proficiency in front end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Vue.js)

• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns

• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, JIRA)

• Experience with data transformation processes using tools such as SSIS, Python and/or MS PolyBase

• 5+ years’ experience with PowerBI and/or PowerBI Report Server

• DAX Proficiency

• Must be creative, analytical, and have strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

• Must be organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and evaluate priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
